Remember me mentioning, a while ago, that I had joined a swap entitled
"Challange in a bag mini quilt swap" hosted by Tracy (From my Scrapbag)?
Well, the challange was to create something from the fabric your partner sends to you.
I actually had the pleasure of swapping with the "swap Momma"herself.
Tracy sent me two pieces of lovely fabric, and I am pleased to say she has received my parcel and was thrilled with her mini quilt (few!) and the other goodies I sent too.
So, without further ado, here it is....
I mentioned in this post that the next door neighbours flowering gum tree had insipred me.....
I needle turned the applique, then added the felt gumnuts then embroidered the blossom on with little french knots at the ends...
Finished with a little someone hanging on to the side. I also sent Tracy some Australian craft magazines as well as some Vegemite and Cherry Ripes (my favourite)
Tracy didn't mention ifshe had tried the Vegemite yet!!!! Mmmmm

Oh she'd have to love that!
It embraces the true aussie spirit.
You are very talented...Very!
Hey Kathryn well stunning as ever, love those colours together! You have actually inspired me to redo the quilt on my bed. I made it quite a few years ago for my daughter, months & months of candlewicking, anyway when she started to wear makeup it somehow ??? ended up over the quilt which is an off white. I have soaked & soaked it but cannot remove it so am going to undo it all & put different fabric for the borders. Your Nana's quilt made me think it was time I redid it, after Christmas! Oh god have been rambling, have missed visiting your blog & cannot thank you enough for your comment you left me, the feeling is returned. Have a great weekend

Doin the happy dance here in California cause it's mine all mine! :)
I'm tipping Tracey was too polite to mention the vegemite - seems to be a taste only appreciated by Australians...LOL But she would have done back flips over the quilt I'm sure. It is lovely Kathryn.
Hugs,

Glad she liked it. Who wouldn't - I thought it was great.
It's perfect!
What a great quilt! Your design is wonderful. And you did some applique, also. Super! That quilt is here in California somewhere. Maybe I can find it and visit with it sometime!
Wow Kathryn, you couldn't be more talented if you tried. You've done a brilliant job with the quilt, what a great idea.
