Konnichiwa......

Konnichiwa everyone!
I have been busy making some more Kokeshi dolls for the Etsy shop and my website.
The "dolls" section of the website is looking a bit dismal so I had better get sewing and do some more Matryoshkas too.
Harumi, Kichi and Mieko are in my Esty shop now along with a couple of the "TUTU cute" lavender sachets.
I had no luck lokking for soccer fabric yesterday (which I thought would be the case) so I will have to resort to the internet once more. I would love to be able to shop "local" but when there isn't anything to choose from, and I can get it half price on the internet, what incentive is there?
I have found a few pieces for the soccer quilt here. Check out their web specials too........here, here and here...need I say more?
Have a happy Friday.

The 2 minute wrap tutorial......

Whilst watching "Little Dorrit" a last Sunday night, I was inspired to make a simple wrap like Little Dorrit's. Hers was obviously knitted but I liked the concept and thought "how effective and simple" it looked. I am sure this has been done before but here it is if you are interested.
I am not kidding you, this took about 2 minutes to make. 1. Take a width of very stretchy fabric and cut about 22" in length.
My fabric was about 55" width.
2. Take one end and turn in a complete circle so that the right side of the fabric is facing up again.
3. Fold in half placing right sides together, pin.
4. Because my overlocker does not like very fine knits, I used a simple turned seam on the edge to finish. Make sure the ends are secure and threads are hidden.
Voila!
I think it would look great for an evening out with a black top underneath. It just gives that bit of glamour without going overboard.
What do you think?
I hope it is not too naff?

One thing you should not do is.....

......buy a jigsaw puzzle from the "Reject Shop" and
spend four days putting it together, with two little boys, only to find that one piece had been duplicated (see second row down!!!!) and one piece missing!!! Bah. I guess they don't call it the "Reject" shop for nothing!!! How frustrating!
Great picture though.
What have you wasted your time doing lately?

My creative space......

In my creative space today I have been making a few more of these lavender bags in the shape of a dress/tutu? Any suggestions for what I could call them? The brain is a bit fried, in holiday mode, and I can't think straight!
Bit of a mess really.....
But I think the messier the better?
More over at Kirsty's HERE.
