Slippers.....

I recently purchased Tonne Finnager's "Sew Pretty Homestyle" book from here and I absolutely love it. There are so many pretty projects to make and these house slippers caught my eye.
So, yesterday I decided to give them a go.....
I used Cath Kidston's "Spray Flowers" cotton duck fabric and wool felt for the inner.
The pattern said it would fit a size 39 (which is what I am) but I made it slightly bigger and they are (only) just perfect.
Also, I should have read the instructions more carefully as the inner was supposed to have a concealed seam, but, being the "bull at a gate" as I am, I rushed into it and now have exposed seams!
Next time I will make them slightly bigger again and read the instructions a bit better!

  5. Oooh Kathryn, I made these and they were sooooo tiny. In fact, I only made one, it was fit for a dwarf and I abandoned the other!

  6. They are so cute, and no one will see the insides anyway. I am still pondering which of the projects to make from that book.

  8. Kathryn, I wouldn't worry about the exposed seams, they are pretty anyway. I have had that book out from our local library and some of the other projects in there are rather nice too. Never run out of lovely things to make from that book. Kind regards, Anita.

  9. The slippers are just lovely! I've also been guilty of rushing into a project and reading the instructions afterwards. Oh well....

  10. They look lovely Kathryn.
I have all Tone's books and absolutely love them but those instructions leave a bit to be desired - I always just wing it and have made the odd mistake (LOL).
I'm making more of her angels today... well, I was until I got sidetracked looking for fabric on line and then wandered over to blogland... and you know how the rest goes.
