Bad hair day.....

After looking in the mirror this morning, I should have washed my hair, but since we are going to the pool again later this afternoon, I thought I could hold out....
Then I looked in the mirror again after I had a shower and wished I had have washed it.
So, I thought I'd try and disguise it with a headband. I had wanted to make one for a while and thought what a perfect day to do it.
I knew of a tutorial out there so gave it a go. I failed miserably......was it the tutorial or me?
The first one was too tight......
The second one (after a little adjustmant) was too big......
I haven't tried a third.....yet!
I was having a Jodie (EITTTS) moment and I wasn't very happy.

On a brighter note, here is another little peek at the Matryoshka quilt.
I have nearly finished stitching around them, then I'll have to do the faces.
I usually paint the faces on my dolls but this time I will be stitching them.
The boys are behaving like maniacs today - what is it with boys?
Off to the pool we go......

I don't think it is just boys, I think my kids have "squeal as loud as you can at whatever you are doing so as to drive your Mother mad -itis". Your quilt looks great and so do the hair bands, what is the saying about third time lucky??
Hope you recover from your EITTTS, though if that is what you make when you have EITTTS, my everyday looks like I have a severe case of it! Kiss Noises Linda Lilly Cottage at home

Hmmmmmmmmmmm...I think it's just the mere fact that they are BOYS!!! :)
Lovely stuff! You are such an artist!
You HAVE to send your creations in to one of the Sommerset magazines! They need to be seen by everyone! :)

Boys will be boys, strangely enough some of them grow up quite nice . Love the fabric in the headbands shame they didn't fit Goldilocks .

I do hope the third headband did fit. (It must have been the tutorial that was wrong)
My boy grew up to be quite lovely and I'm sure yours will too!

The headbands look great Kathryn - they are just waiting for the right size head to come along.

I can't wait to see this quilt.

Gee, you are persistent - on my EITTTS days, I would never give something a SECOND go. For what it's worth, I think they both look lovely. Even if they don't fit you, I am sure someone you know will be happy to have them :o)
Oh, and boys? Is it a full moon, or just a week away from school going back? We've done the pool thing MANY times these holidays. Pools were invented by angels, didn't you know?

Sometimes you just can't win! Never mind, the headbands are pretty and there's sure to be a head to fit them, even if it's not yours!

The hairbands are really pretty but it may have been quicker to wash your hair! I do that all the time, think the hair will be OK and spend the rest of the day regretting it!
The fabric is wonderful you have used too.

Boys, hmm, mine is driving me nuts at the mo! I made the headband on Heather Bailey's site. It was too big to start with so I made it a bit smaller and it's quite passable now. It is red and white polka dots which does make me look a bit nutty though!

I too love the new headbands, I found some simular to what you have made in a shope just before Christmas but they wanted $19.95 each for them, so that's where they stayed! Hope you find the perfect size, I seem to have been wearing headbands the last couple of hot days, can't stand hair hanging in my face when I'm trying to do things.
Hope you had fun at the pool with your boys, I took my girls for a drive yesterday & they ended up swimming in the river & had a ball.

Hi Kathryn,
I love the fabric you chose for the headbands, very pretty, shame they won't be on y our head though...third time lucky?
Boys don't get me started on boys lol...they are born with built in crazy and it grows and grows.
When i first looked at the picture of your Matryoshka quilt i thought you had made a hot water bottle cover...have you made water bottle covers in the past or am i imagining it? if not i think you should give it a try they are the perfect shape.

How nice of you to have coming to visit me!
I imagine, that you are a very busy lady, so the fact that you took some of your precious time to leave me a comment... I appreciate it a lot!
Also, I was mesmerized that you know someone from Chorley, who happens to have lived in Portugal!
Wow!
How amazing is that!!!
Almost as amazing as your beautiful hand-made creations!
