Our bathroom is destroyed.....

There's never a dull moment around here I can tell you. We have got to get our house ready to sell in a few months so while Hubs is on holidays for a few weeks he has been busy destroying our bathroom. It was falling to bits, tiles coming off, paint peeling, not to mention the purple toilet! (Pam you would love it I'm sure, but not us!!). So without further ado, Hubs set about on his holiday mission......

The floor tiles WERE purple - Gone! Notice the accent tiles on the wall - more purple!

Accent tiles gone! The shower wall tiles were also purple and the shower base is still purple. We are going to have a go at painting it as it would turn into a mammoth job pulling it out. Anyone out there had a go at painting a shower base? Hubs has been on a few forums to see what would be the best way to do it ....so I shall leave it to him to sort out.... He says he has it all under control......mmm?

I, on the other had have not been destroying anything! In fact, things in my sewing room have been quite peaceful. I've been doing a lot of sewing for "us" and a few bits and pieces for the shop too. I will be updating it when the kids go back to school at the beginning of February.

We had a day at the beach yesterday - Ocean Grove. The waves were a bit on the small side so the boys didn't really get to give their new "boogie boards" a work out, but we scoured the rock pools and found some great shells to bring home. We also stopped at our local pool for a dip on the way home. It was packed but beautiful in! We have a season pass, so any opportuntiy we have to go, we do. The boys have been loving the water this year and Master 6 is much more confident. He was like a leech last year not wanting to let go of us. Now, he is jumping in with the kickboard and kicking his way up and down the pool, up and down the pool........
If you are on holidays too, I hope you are having fun!
Kathryn.

You are destroying a purple toilet? How could you?! Since there is no way DH would ever let me get one, I will just have to dream of having moved to your house - before you got rid of it! (Although we are in the UK, even I wouldn't relocate that far for a pretty loo!)

Kathryn, the one great thing about building your own home is you can choose all the fittings and colours schemes....and I'm tipping a purple loo is not going to be one of them..LOL

Enjoy you rquiet time in the sewing room.

Oh yep had a house with grey and purple/lilac accents...Mmmmm.
Sounds like your boys are having a great summer Holiday.
We are off to portarlington tommorrow for morning tea with my Grandparents and then to the beach for the kids to have a play.
It'll be great when my three can all actually swim properly then a visit to a pool would'nt be so stressful

the best thing about our new home was that the bathroom was new!! well except for the ceiling paint which is a job for these holidays. enjoy your new bathroom even though you wont get to be in it for long!!

Hi Kathryn, your days with the kids sound great...I have my 2 grandchildren here ..and we have been going to the pool every day.. they just love it! (So does Nanna). My daughter arrived last night to spend a week..and guess what? I came home from work today.. to see my kitchen in tatters and a very happy daughter saying... you go buy the paint... its time for a reform (I did tell her last night what I would like to do to the kitchen). Soooo we are on our way..no more proctastination..we are in boots and all... whoo hoooo! Marilyn

Wow, that is a big job to tackle Kathryn. I remember the year Mr Flowergarden started updating our laundry, and I came home one day to find it completely gone, and I could see the dirt under the house - argh!!!! Turned into a bigger job than expected, but ended with a happy ending. I think we might have to have a drive down to the beach - Ocean Grove sounded good.

What! You got rid of the purple loo! And those purple tiles are super! How can you part with them? Maybe the new owners like purple. How do you know? What color are you going for now?

The girls arrived today. They are bigger than I thought. They are beautiful. Thank you so much! Thanks for the pattern, too.

I wish I lived close enough to come get the purple loo!

Why do we all do the snazzy stuff to our houses when we sell them . Wouldn't it be nice to have the nice stuff for ourselves? Enjoy the rest of the holidays .

Your handy hubby made your bathroom even better! I like the finish product. Hmm, I bet the next homeowner would also like the remodeled bathroom. It's simple yet relaxing.
