Quilt # 2......

This is quilt #2 which I finished piecing together today. I made it from fabric from my stash and now have none left of two of the fabrics used. I am trying not to buy fabrics until I use up some I have on my shelves!!
I saw a picture of a quilt like this one (somewhere) on the internet and thought, yeah that looks easy enough...so I sat down, figured it all out, worked out if I had enough of each fabric, then off I went. It looks OK so far. I'm not sure how I'm going to quilt it though. I may quilt it in the ditch as I haven't tried free motion quilting yet. Perhaps I should have a few practice goes then just wing it......What do you think?

Your fabric combo is so pretty ~ I love it! I think your design really lends itself to the quilt in the ditch method. I can't wait to see the finished project!

Oooh, I've been dying to see how your quilt turned out! How lovely it is, and how clever are you! I can't give any recommendations on quilting as I can't do it Lol! (Not been brave enough to try!) Can't wait to see it all done.
Best wishes,
Jenelle

You amaze me Kathryn. For someone who is new to quilting you have produced two awesome quilts. The colours and prints on this one are gorgeous.

Huh? Kathryn you so talk the lingo of a "quilter"....lol!
I have no idea of the terminology but quilt in a ditch to a quilting nerd such as myself would mean me,Blanket and needle in hand ina Muddy...dusty hole...sewing away!!!
But what I do know is....
That quilt looks great!!!!
Just so pretty and gorgeous...
You and my Sister really would love one another.
Ahhhhh....Quilt in the "ditch"

Hi Kathryn ~ I'm slowly coming out of the wood work after the 'craziness' of the Christmas season and popped on over to wish you a Happy New Year!

Yeah!!! another quilt for Kathryn ! I say just wing it with the free motion. It's lots of fun, and the more you do the better you get at it.

Wow, this quilt is beautiful! And very shabby-chic!

I think some gorgeous hand quilting in cream pearle would suit this down to the ground... but then again I can say that because I'm not the one who has to hand quilt a huge quilt!

So romantic! I think women like you and I pick to do romantic pastels because we are the Mom's of boys and to get the girlie thing out of our systems, we put it into our fabric arts!

Since my 4 boys are now men, I did get a pay off..9 granddaughters! Pink has been a big part of my fabric life for sometime now!

You are amazing! As a new quilter this second quilt says "I'm really good at this "!

It's just beautiful Kathryn! I did a machine quilting day class at Ballarat Patchwork and it was well worth it (says me who sends her quilts off to Bernadette. I would hand quilt it too. Can't wait to see how it turns out!
