Scrap that....

After reading "Crazy Mom Quilts" the other day, I realised I do not make the most of my scraps. She even has hers categorised into colours and sizes! See her "Scrap Management" post here.
I just seem to throw mine into a big bag that somehow turns into the black hole.

So, after seeing a few of these "Stacked Coins" quilts about the bloggy scene I decided to raid the scraps and see what I could come up with....

Some of my all time favourite fabrics are in this quilt - Rachel Ashwell, Cath Kidston, Laura Ashley, Mary Rose, Paris Bebe, Barefoot roses, Anna Griffin, Sis Boom.. the list goes on.
This pretty pink spotty roses fabric was a gift from Heleen from Dutch Colours. She sent me this with my giveaway winners' package.

Even though it is autumn here, it looks like a really fresh, Spring time quilt with all these lovely colours.
What are you making with your scraps?

I love this quilt. Can you tell me please the size of stacks your using. I think these could be my answer to the bins of scraps I own. You know how that is i'm sure. I do my own very of scrappy quilts but it's based more on the scappy crazy quilt style.

Nice work as always.

Kathryn that is such a lovely quilt. I must admit I have the big black hole bag also, but sorting it out will have to wait for another day. Well done you.

You have lovely work here.... and you're very creative. It's a lovely gift to have to be able to create things from scraps etc and turn them into new items - everyone can try but not everyone can make them look gorgeous.

All the best with your creations.

ciao,
Elena :)

That is sooooooo beautiful!!! The idea is so simple, but so lovely!!!
In December, I started cutting one of these out for a quilt for my son in yellows, and blues. I haven't picked it up again since Christmas, as things have been hectic here, but when things get better I will be motivated to make a start!!
Can't wait to see your quilt finished : ) Crazy mom has such a fantastic quilting blog, so inspirational!

Have a lovely week.
