Autumn cleaning...

In a few months we will have our house on the market.
So, we all know what that means don't we....I'm going to have to have a huge cleanout in the sewing room/office.
Now, this means that I will probably find things that I had totally forgotten about, find things that I don't want anymore and find things that make me wonder what on earth I had thought when I purchased said things. I have already looked at my huge mess and wondered where to start.....
Anyway, these school holidays I must try and sort through my stash and somehow come up with a storage solution that will make the room seem orderly and still let me find what I'm looking for.
It must be presentable to those wishing to come and look through the house and yet still workable for both DH and I to work in.
So, with so much to do in the next week (the boys are off to Grandma's for a few days) I will take a short leave of absence from posting and try to make the most of "our" time off....painting....sorting....boxing...chucking out....tidying....fixing....and most importantly decluttering.
Wish us luck!
I shall leave you with some new Clutch Purses that I finished off on the weekend. The fabric is from Amy Butler's "Nigella" range. Isn't it fantastic! They will be added to Etsy soon.

"Happy Easter" to you all.

Hopefully you won't be away too long! It's so hard having to keep the house looking like a showroom for open days, especially when you have children...and a sewing machine! Have fun finding all those treasures you've forgotten about.
Best wishes,
Jenelle

Having spent what seems like months trying to find the floor of my sewing room, I do wish you lots and lots of luck, Kathryn. Have a great Easter - those purses are so pretty.

the bags are really really nice. we will have been in this house for two years on the 20th of this month and the pain of moving is still fresh in my mind... almost as bad as childbirth! my biggest advice is throw everything away :)be ruthless honey or you will hate yourself when you move.

VERY chic purses - that is beautiful fabric you've used to make them. A clear out can feel great can't it? Similar to weeding the garden for satisfaction. Emma x

Good luck with the sorting and packing...and especially with all that's involved in the sale of your home!

By the way - thanks for sharing the Ebay video ~ too funny! Too true!

Good luck with the sorting!! I am doing the same this week - my in lawas arrive on friday and the sewing room has to be transformed into a guest room by then.

Cleaning out the craft room! Now there's an idea, mine could do with a sort out too. I don't know if I'll ever be able to move, the thought of shifting years of accumulated stuff is... scary!

Hi Kathryn, the bags are gorgeous as always, good luck with your sorting of everything, done it myself when I moved a few years ago,be ruthless or you will end up with loads of stuff you don't really need and have to do it all again when you eventually move,I still have boxes in the garage that I haven't even looked at,lol,Happy Easter,Pamx
