Packing it......

Yes, the packing has begun in a big way, at our place, ready for our move in......4 weeks time.
Oh, My, Goodness!!!
In one way, it cannot come quick enough.
In another way, there is so much to be done before we do move.
I cleaned out our linen cupboard last week. As I was doing it, I said to myself, "why on earth do we have so much CRAP?"......more than half went to the Salvo's.
Well, people do keep telling me to be ruthless!!!!

I also did the kitchen cupboards, my wardrobe, the bookcase, the lounge room and some of the boy's room.

I think will leave the office/sewing room until last.....or perhaps I could clean it out now and sneakily start taking stuff up to my new designated sewing room and move in before "moving in"..........Mmmm, I think that sounds like a better idea.

On a brighter note....

My Grandmother had commissioned a couple of aprons, as presents, a while back and the deadline is looming.
One was to be frilly!
Do you think it is frilly enough? LOL!
Thank you to everyone who lent me support on the last two posts.
It is comforting to know, that I am not the only one to have been in this situation!
It is a bright sunny day here today so I must make the most of it.
Hope you all have a wonderful day, Kathryn. XX

Remorse.....

"We are sorry Mummy".
"Thank you boys"
We did not go to the party, they tidied the lounge, their bedroom, dried the dishes, set the table, packed their school bags and are going without a treat after dinner for a week.
Enough said.

NOT HAPPY JAN !!!!!

Can you feel my anger in the post title?
Well after this post, I cannot believe that this happened less than half an hour ago...I have calmed down somewhat. I know the photo is blurry but I WAS shaking.....
Ok, here's what happened....
Master 6 was trying to pull Master 8's "rude" finger up (as you do).
Master 8 was trying to get away.
Master 6 would not let go.
Master 8 pushes Master 6 to the ground and his elbow ends up doing this.
Thank goodness no blood was spilled only tears.
They have missed out on something special after dinner for a week and I am thinking they will miss out on a cousin's party at McDonalds later on today.
That is yet to be discusssed with Hubs who is up at the house.
They have been told so many times not to muck around like this inside - save it for outside.
What would you do as a fair punishment?

Pretty velvet.......

Here's what I did yesterday with 15 minutes to spare before I picked the children up from School . It was so simple and quick to make!
I love quick projects and this was no exception.
I can see it teamed with a pretty cream lace top and some more bling!
What do you think?
Quickie today - hope everyone is well?

Change.....

They say a change is as good as a holiday so I decided to change my blog header this morning. It took longer than I thought, but I like it. It's a bit more colourful for the upcoming Spring - Yeah! I can't wait for a bit of warmth in the air.
Yesterday I went and had morning tea with Kylie (A Bite of Country Cupcakes) and her two gorgeous girls. She had made the most delicious little cupcakes - yes real ones this time with jam and cream and a passionfruit filling - YUM!

And, of course, I bought home a few more of her faux cuppies and chocolate love hearts. I just love her work. You can find more here.
There has been some progress with the new sewing room.
I now have walls and a cupboard!
Along the left under the window will be my long sewing table/desk. It will be long enough to have my machine and overlocker and it will have enough space for laying quilts out as I sew.....
These were taken at 5.30pm and just look at the light! It is north facing so I think I could sew all day without a light on, how great is that!
Lots to think about...

Finally finished.....

It's taking about 4 times as long to finsih anything lately. Hubs and I were up at the house until late last night up on scaffolding finishing off the last bit of insulation on the upper roof ceiling. I know, more insulation, when will it end?....not anytime soon because then it's the lower floor ceiling to be done. I can see light at the end of the tunnel though. The plasterers have done an amazing job so far and it is really starting to look like our home now.
Anyway, these pretty Kokeshi Dolls have finally been finished and are now in the shop.
A couple have already been given new homes, thanks to a couple of girls from my craft group for having birthdays recently. Can you spot one of them in the bottom of this photo? Hee hee, i think she liked hers! One was sickly, I hope she is OK.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Dancing on the ceiling........

Besides going crazy on the weekend at the house madly trying to finish every little job before the plastering started (yesterday!!!) I haven't done much sewing at all. I just have not had the time. Although I did manage to finish a bag for one of my best customers, who requested a bag for her wheelchair. She suffers from MS, besides a lot of other things, and is having a rough time of it all lately. It is to fit over her armrests. I hope she will be happy with it and I hope it fits! The plasterers began yesterday and they completed the whole ceiling on the ground floor. Amazing! I shall be back up there with them today putting in more insulation as they plaster....that should be intersting!!!!
I shall get around to visiting you all soon.

The sewing room wardrobe....

Yes, I am still here! But I have been up here a lot lately.
The plasterers come next week and we have had lots of little jobs to do. I was installing acoustic insulation in some parts of the house today. I would not wish this job on anyone. It was awful and I'm so glad I will never have to do it again. If I did have to do it again, I would stamp my feet and yell "I don't want to" very loudly.
On a more exciting note this is one part of my new wardrobe for the sewing room. I had it made to my measurements so that this part will hold two widths of fabric!!!!
And this bit will be screwed together with the one above. It will hold the fabric I have on rolls.
And so, the excitment begineth for me!!!
Thank you to all those lovely people who left get well messages for me on my last post.
See you soon, hopefully sooner than last time!
