One very good reason why you should never......

....leave your "quick unpick" or seam ripper lying around with a very naughty master 7.....
"Oh, but it was an accident!" MMMMmmmmm

I made this slip cover for our footstool (which incidentally i picked up at the op-shop for $12!) earlier in the year and I was thrilled with how it turned out. I knew exactly which fabric I wanted to use and when I finished I only had a bout 10cm letft! It was meant to be.........

But, now it looks like I had better start thinking of another fabric to recover it in......
Maybe next near when we have decided on colours for the new house.....
I have learnt a very valuble lesson! Have you?

aaahhh many valuable lessons have been learnt in my household in the past year with a 2 and 1/2 year old on the loose.... dont i repeat dont leave the 1kg honey bucket on the bench (she rubbed it all through the carpet) dont leave the bathroom door unlocked.... toothpaste everywhere, hand soap everywhere....the list is endless. your foot stool is very nice by the way and you can hardly see where the cut is. have a great week xx

Hmmm. I think a bit of Fray-stop http://www.nordicneedle.com/PROD/E06-00-00/6621.html will hold that slit in the fabric at bay for a while. Maybe a little whip stitch or two and she'll be good as almost new, only with more fond memories of your little guy being a curious kid. :)

Oh dear.
I picked up a similar stool at a garage sale the other day $5. You will have to blog your re-covering job so I can learn what to do.
Cheers,
Julie.

Um AAhh big whoops! I had a similar incident when my sugar wouldn't melt in her mouth 7 year old once sut through several skeins of embroidery thread, right in half making them completely useless!! My youngest of younger brothers also happened to mention when Questioned one day that he might have cut through the wooden BBQ bench seat when he was cutting out some wood...YA THINK??
Oh well makes for a good story and a good blog post!
