Hello Possum.....

I know I have been A.W.O.L for a few days and that is due to the extreme heat we experienced last week. We had nearly a whole week of 40 plus temperatures and I couldn't even sit in front of the computer because it was too hot! Even the air conditioner struggled and, sitting right under it, I still felt hot.

This poor little lady (a ring tailed possum) wandered into our garden one evening looking very hot and bothered. She plonked herself in a shady tree and stayed there calmly while I took some photos.

She had a baby in her pouch - you can just see the tiny feet above hers on the tree. I put some water out for her because there isn't much of it about. I hope she found it.

This is a little wristlet purse I finished as a present for a friend last week..
That's the only sewing I have done lately but it is back to it this week because.......

........my little munchkins are back at school today! Woo Hoo!
The sewing room won't know what has hit it.

I hope everyone is cooling off this week!

Kathryn have really felt for you lovely ladies down south suffering through the heatwave, hopefully thats the end of it for you guys. Love the photos of the poor possum, we forget how much the animals go through in a heatwave as well.
School started back last Wednesday here, the house is so quiet, YESSSSSSSS!

Have a great day Sweet

Oh has'nt that heat been challenging.
We too had a possum...Sweet lil things.
And that wristlit bag is lovely.
My fella went off to School today and Miss to 3 yo activity group.
Both went off without a Hitch and made me feel really good.
But boy oh boy between dropping and picking up and getting one to have a sleep I am busy!
Much cooler today but so horribly humid!

Poor little possums, wasn't it the worst week, our garden is scorched, I'd bought a portable air conditioner the week before, I was so dissapointed it didn't seem to work ~ in fact I think the extreme heat was too much for quite a few air conditions. Much cooler today for the kids to be back at school, hope you had a productive day

Gosh your boys are just too cute, hope everything went well for them.
I love the pictures of the possum, it's hard to imagine how they deal with the heat, especially with a young one it it's pouch.
That awful heat that has been down your way has been forcast to hit hear on Friday, so I am madly freezing bottles of water, & just about anything else that we can use to cool down.

Oh we are certainly cooling off, it's currently snowing hard and there's a good 8" on the ground! No work, no school today!

Loved the possum, I'm going to show Harry. No doubt he will start asking for a real koala again! We have two foxes playing in the snow instead.

I can certainly relate to the heat...only it's FREEZING here in my state (Oklahoma USA). ACK! Would love to just live in the SPRING...

Love the pics of the little RTP. A HUGE HUGE HUGE Possum wandered into our backyard once when my kids were little. Something started scratching at my window and I thought it was a stray kitty that had been hangin' around. I whipped up the blinds to say "BOO" only to have these little beady eyes staring at me and huge teeth. I've never been the same since that day...ARGH!

Love the pics...never seen a Possum like that...

Blessings to you....Thanks for sharing...Rebecca

Hi Kathryn it sure has been hot. My poor garden is so, so burnt. Don't know how much can be saved. The heat and wind were so destructive.
Hope the kids enjoyed being back at school

You all have really had a rough time of it with the heat. Here in New England, if we have 3 days of 32 celcius or above, we're all complaining loudly. Fortunately it doesn't happen often. However, at this time of year we get tons of snow (it's snowing right now) and the temps have been around 15 celcius or lower. Hope it cools soon and you have lots of time to sew!

That little possum is just too cute! We don't anything like that here in the US. Our possums are big and kind of ugly!

Have fun sewing!

I cared for an injured Ringtail last year for 6 months, Princess Pia never drank water ever, she loved eating all the native flowers and new leaf tip I could find in the neighbourhood but she absolutely loved bananas, and apples were ok too. Maybe if you kids have half eaten pieces of fruit in their lunchboxes pop it out each night for the possums. It must be exhausting having a little bundle of joy in your pouch making you even hotter, poor mum.

my sewing room is a no go zone...way tooo hot...
the possum is very cute but just remember they do bite...and if they get into your roof they can eat all you electrical wiring...well it did happen to us...it didn't bite us but the electricians bill did...
