Simplicity 2599....

Once again we all had a brilliant time and I survived the whole weekend without a headache, miracle of miracles. (usually due to lack of sleep and the sewing frenzy that occurs for 2 days straight!)
This is one of the articles of clothing that I made.
It is Simplicity 2599 in view E (without the bow on the side). Lara made this one at our Sewjourn getaway last November and I loved it so much that I bought the pattern.
It was a simple pattern with easy instructions and I love the way it has turned out.
The instructions said to turn under the seam allowance on the ruffle to neaten the edge, but I like the rolled hem on the overlocker better. And, with the satin-y fabric it was much easier too.
And a couple of vintage Mother of Pearl buttons to the back for a bit more interest than just a covered button.
I love it, and I know I will get lots of wear out of this top in the warmer months.
More clothes to come, Kathryn. xx

Wasn't it wonderful! And isn't this top just GORGEOUS! Perfect fit and perfect marriage of fabric and vintage buttons. I could happily steal this....(and I'm wearing my prison smock today, just to let you know)
