Watercolour Dress.....

Last week I walked into Spotlight wanting some wool blend suiting fabric for a cape I've had in mind for a while.
I didn't buy the wool fabric (not a very good range - unlike the vast range in the catalogue) but I did come out with the most amazing fabric I've seen in ages. It was stacked with the blue/beige end on show and when I pulled it out I was gobsmacked!!

So, 2 metres of fabric and a few hours of sewing I have a wonderful new dress to show for it.
The pattern is a vintage 'STYLE' pattern, I'm not even sure you can still buy this brand?

It will be perfect for our Autumnal weather.
Very happy.

Covered......

I purchased this rubbishy old footstool from the op-shop a while ago. It will go in our front lounge room....
But, not like this!
I recovered it using the same fabric that will be used for the curtains for a bit of matchy-matchy.
I cut a big square for the top, then boxed it in on the sides.
I measure out the four sides of the footstool, then cut 4 equal lengths PLUS 50cm to make the pleats on each corner.
I used a water soluble pen to mark the hem.
 Press, and
cover!
I will post pics of our front room progress soon.

New face

My Website will be getting a new look over the next week or so. I have needed to streamline it for sometime now as it is so time consuming to list items.
I will be having a 'home' page with a link to my Etsy shop. Etsy works for me in so many ways. It is easy to list, cheap to run and it has great 'search' rankings. So stay tuned.

Also, having a new face is this 'Bella Doll' that I am working on.
It's the first embroidered face that I have done on a doll and I am unsure. I think she needs pupils?
Any comments welcome!

Grown up cushions....

I have decided to make a lot more homewares for us 'grown up girls' this year.
And I have just listed a few in my Etsy shop this morning. You can find them here if you are interested.
Look forward to some more designs for your home coming soon!
Oh, and check out the 'Christmas SALE' section of the shop too, everything must go!

Sebastian, Grandma's Fox.....

Ok, so I couldn't make my Dad his favourite animal and not make my Mum hers now could I?
So, I'd like you to meet 'Sebastian', he is a little stunned about being put forth into the public domain.
He is a Sagittarius and likes to have his tummy rubbed non stop.......
And he likes to be told that he is handsome fox!
 Turn around, don't be shy.......
That's better, now I hope you two get along because you are going to be spending a lot of time together from now on!
Pay it forward tomorrow....
