Awake, Asleep.....

I made some of these "Awake, Asleep" Matryoshka Dolls way back in 2003 when I was still handpainting every single doll's face.
I thought it was about time to paint another in keeping with my 'Awake' face that I have been using since 2008, since discovering 'printable fabric sheets'- what a time saver that has been!!!!
Plus, everytime you see 'this' face, you know that it is one of mine!
Meet 'Rada'.
Because she can go to sleep, she needs her very own quilt and pillow doesn't she?
 Sleep tight Rada.
You can find 'Rada' here.

Disappearing.....

How on earth do the days disappear so quickly? Holidays are over, kids are back at school and I spent nearly all of yesterday trying to get the house cleaned and in order. Mountains of washing was done, groceries bought, bolognaise in the slow cooker, bathrooms cleaned, floor mopped, ah the list just goes on and on......
And this is what my hubby gave me to keep me going, oh bless! He is getting a bit creative with his froth these days!
And, some new fabrics turned up from Etsy. I bought these to make some more Pussikins!
Girls this time.
I love Matryoshkas and I could not resist these Matryoshka cats! How cute!
Purchased from here.
And, I have begun my tutorial for my paticipation in the 'Simply Christmas' fun over at Shabby Art Boutique.
I have been given the task of showing you a pretty and feminine gift to make!
If you haven't been over to see what Kerryanne has planned for us all, please do. It's all about getting back to basics for Christmas, forget commercial buying, buy handmade or make it yourself! Kerryanne has lots of talented bloggers involved in this over the next 12 weeks of Christmas - check her sidebar to see who's who.
Get organised, get creating, get cooking and have fun in the lead up to Christmas!
Now, how many hours are left today?

To buy a fat pig? Nah....

"To market, to market to buy" unique and one of a kind goods from local guys and gals?
Yes, that's what it's all about. The market has also attracted some stall holders from the big smoke, who I can't wait to meet!
You are probably sick of me telling you about it, so I will do a round up on Monday then shut up for the rest of the month, promise!
Packed and ready.

A big "Thank you"

"Thank you" to all those people who wished my husband and I "Happy Anniversary" on my last post. We really appreciate it!
We had a lovely time in Melbourne and enjoyed every moment. We did not stop though! First we headed out to IKEA in Richmond to get some ideas for our new house, had lunch, checked into the Hotel, headed off Bourke St. mall to DJ's,
( we had some vouchers from our credit card points - yeah!! Who would have thought it was so hard to spend $200 though!! We spent ages trying to decide. We ended up buying a pie maker and a few other bits and pieces for the new kitchen. We tried the pie maker on Sunday night and it is fantastic)
freshened up for dinner, had the most scrumpcious dinner you can imagine (buffet at the hotel), buffet breakfast, experienced the Art Deco exhibition at the Art Gallery of Victoria (fantastic) more shopping and then came home to two little boys who had missed us terribly.
Oh...:0(
They got over it when they saw we had bought them some treats....it's amazing what a bag of choccie frogs and some snakes can do !!

Anyway, these are few things that I have finished today. I love the way this wall hanging turned out. The fabric colours and the face are really pretty.
A cushion with the same theme.
This one is made with some really beautiful Barefoot cameo roses fabric and moda polka dots.
The "thing" at the back is a wall hanging mini quilt. I haven't finished it though. You can still see the purple fabric pen I used for the outline of the quilted flower shapes. I need to do the hand sewing tonight then I think these will go onto ebay.
Hugs, Kathryn. XX
